Happy New Year and Hello
New Decade!

Hopefully, this newsletter finds all of
you having experienced a peaceful and
joyous holiday and ready to move into a
new decade. 2009 certainly had it's
challenges so I have no doubt that the
optimism must be high for 2010! All that
said, there were some great high points
for our Chapter last year with some of
them being Rosie Jones appearance at the
Kick Off, Education Clinics, volunteers
performing magnificently at the EWGA
Semi Final Tournament, LPGA Tour
Championship and the Texas Women's
Conference, Winning the 2009 Lone Star
Cup and most importantly achieving a 34%
growth rate of new members. WOW!
Well, the good news is that YOUR
CHAPTER is already at work to go
beyond what we achieved last year.
As is typical of emergence into a
New Decade, we too want to evolve
into an even greater Chapter and the
infusion of enthusiasm has been
prolific. Kick Off planning is well
underway, golf events are scheduled,
with diversity in mind regarding
formats of play and variety of
courses; and we plan to increase the
number of education clinics this
year to address specific golf
skills. We are also working on a
mentorship program that will go
beyond "Girlfriend Golf" to assist
players to their next level in
playing the game and establishing a
handicap. There will also be a new
program for our members called
"Player & Caddie of the Year", which
will reward the top participants of
the Chapter based upon events played
(Player) and volunteerism (Caddie).
For those of you who volunteered for
any of the events after November 1,
2009 you have already been
accumulating points! How cool is
that?
Our focus is to provide benefits
that will truly make this "Every
Woman's Golf Association".
Your Chief Steward,
Lana
